CertifiedGreenBiz · how it works
Your path from inputs
to a checkable record.
Start with a practical carbon assessment. Build the evidence needed for a clearly scoped CGB certificate and public verification record.
Start carbon assessment ↗
01 / Owner/operator inputs
Define what is included.
Record the reporting period, included locations and operations under your control. Answer the source questions and enter activity quantities. Estimates and unknowns stay visible.
Owners/operators are responsible for accurate reporting. CGB remains responsible for its method and the claims it publishes.
02 / Calculate & review
Resolve the gaps.
The calculator shows quantified emissions and an illustrative credit quantity. A complete requirement is withheld where coverage or factors need review. Scope 3 and unsupported sources are explicitly disclosed.
The planned review checks the boundary, factor suitability and evidence before accepting an inventory for certification.
03 / Credit retirement · planned
Document the actual transaction.
After approval, the planned service will arrange eligible credits on a subscriber’s behalf and retain retirement evidence identifying the project, registry, serial numbers, quantity, beneficiary and covered period.
Suppliers, eligibility rules, fees and customer authorization must be finalized. An estimate, payment or credit purchase alone is not retirement.
04 / Certificate & profile · planned
Publish only supported claims.
An approved certificate should link to a QR verification record and business profile with its scope, reporting dates, review basis and retirement evidence.
Certificate issuance and the public registry are not yet available. No real certificate is issued by this website.
Documents without signup friction
Enter the essentials.
Keep the supporting records.
No document is required to try the calculator. Where private uploads are enabled, you can add optional sample records after login. Retain originals for a later evidence request.
Evidence is requested when needed.
The planned review may ask for specific records to resolve gaps before approval. A deadline will be stated with that request; there is no blanket 15-day rule in this preview.
Uploading alone never changes an assessment to “verified.” Private sample uploads expire after 30 days; retain your originals.
Proposed membership schedules
A reporting rhythm that fits your business.
Choose quarterly, half-yearly or yearly reporting per site. Quarterly is the shortest cycle; half-yearly is our recommended starting schedule. Enter usage figures from your records and let the calculator do the calculations.
Proposed · per site
Quarterly
4 reporting updates / year
For more frequent updates.
To start: enter usage figures for the latest completed 3 months. Our calculator calculates the emissions.
Next reporting update: cover the following 3 months, then submit after that period ends.
Proposed · per site · Recommended
Half-yearly
2 reporting updates / year
Recommended starting schedule.
To start: enter usage figures for the latest completed 6 months. Our calculator calculates the emissions.
Next reporting update: cover the following 6 months, then submit after that period ends.
Proposed · per site
Yearly
1 reporting update / year
For suitable businesses with complete annual records.
To start: enter usage figures for the latest completed 12 months. Our calculator calculates the emissions.
Next reporting update: cover the following 12 months, then submit after that period ends.
Clear periods. Clear due dates.
Each update covers the next consecutive reporting period. For example, a January–March assessment is followed by April–June, with a short submission window after June ends. Your next reporting update due date will be stated separately; review completion follows our review process.
Having six or twelve months of records does not prevent you choosing more frequent updates. Report significant operational changes sooner, whichever schedule you choose.
Billing frequency is separate from reporting frequency: monthly payments, if offered, will not require monthly reporting. These are CGB program schedules, not GHG Protocol requirements.
Each assessment and any resulting record identifies only the period and scope actually assessed. Three months of data does not establish twelve months of coverage and is not automatically annualised. A reporting update does not automatically issue a certificate or retire credits.
Schedules are proposed. Pricing, billing options, submission windows and review terms will be confirmed before enrollment. Subscription checkout is not yet available.
Membership describes participation.
Current, paused or expired membership shows whether a site participates today. Paying for membership is not proof of verified emissions or retired credits.
Evidence describes a specific period.
A completed record keeps its original scope and dates after membership expires. Corrections or revocation must remain visible, and old evidence does not cover new periods.
Clear limits protect the meaning of certification.
CGB is a proposed private program, not GHG Protocol certification. The current calculator is preliminary and does not produce a complete GHG Protocol inventory. No whole-business carbon-neutral claim follows from a subtotal, a directory listing or credit illustration.
Ontario electricity plan comparisons can identify potential savings where sufficient usage and bill information is available, subject to CGB review. Refrigeration engineering requires an appropriately qualified specialist. Older fictional energy examples are labelled as legacy demonstrations.
